I heard a saying a while back: You prefer the hair color of the first woman you slept with. As I was shaving my head tonight I was wondering if that is the same for straight razors.
For me, I tend to shave with a shavette more often than I do with a straight razor. I shaved with a shavette before I shaved with a straight razor. Maybe I’m just more familiar with a shavette than i am with a straight razor. Perhaps, I just like being able to put in a new blade and not have to worry about stropping it. Whatever the case may be, I definitely use it more.
One of these days I’m going to try to do a survey and see if it holds true for other men as well. It will be interesting to see if men prefer the brand and/or width of the first straight razor they shaved with or if they have changed tastes as they have become more experienced.
